Our Story

Sunshines Garden Design didn’t begin as a traditional landscape company.

My love for gardens was planted early, growing up in Oklahoma with parents who owned nurseries, a flower shop, and later designed and cared for private estates. Though I once resisted following their path, those early years of learning about plants, seasons, and resilience left a lasting imprint.

After a long career in the medical field, I eventually felt the pull back to nature. What began with a neighbor’s landscape company quickly became something deeper,  a place of peace, purpose, and connection I had been searching for.

With determination (and a tiny VW Beetle packed full of tools and plants), I launched Sunshines Garden Design, serving clients one garden at a time.

What started as a one-woman operation has grown into a thriving, women-owned and operated garden design company. Today, our all-female crew brings care, craftsmanship, and thoughtful detail to every project. Together, we’ve had the privilege of restoring and transforming hundreds of gardens across Oklahoma City, blending creativity with horticultural knowledge while supporting one another as women, mothers, and professionals.
